25 February 2025, Singapore – SP Group (SP) today launched the first electric vehicle (EV) charging points in Tengah estate, Singapore’s first and largest smart and sustainable town, planned with green and sustainable features, and smart technologies from the outset. This milestone event was graced by Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for Ministry of Transport & Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, and Adviser to Hong Kah North Grassroots Organisations. The launch supports sustainable mobility and smart energy solutions for residents.
The six newly installed EV chargers are located at Plantation Crescent, Block 112, Deck 3B, covering lots 250, 251, 252, 265, 266, and 267. The deployment of Tengah’s first EV charging points is part of SP’s long-term plans to expand the estate’s green infrastructure. This expansion will enhance residents’ access to efficient and reliable charging.
For a limited period of one month starting from 25 February, customers of SP Mobility, part of SP Group, can enjoy 20% off all EV charging at the newly installed SP charging points in Tengah.
Leading the Charge in Smart Sustainability
SP Mobility actively supports Singapore’s clean energy transition, aligning with the Green Plan 2030’s ambition to deploy 60,000 EV charging points nationwide by 2030, in tandem with EV adoption, and shaping a future-ready EV ecosystem. As the nation’s largest publicly accessible high-speed EV charging network operator, SP Mobility has surpassed 2,000 charging points across Singapore, reinforcing its role as one of the nation’s leading charging network providers.
Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for Ministry of Transport & Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, and Adviser to Hong Kah North Grassroots Organisations, commended the initiative, stating, “To Tengah residents, today’s launch of Tengah’s first EV charging points is a key step in bringing sustainable mobility solutions to the residents. By end of this year, two fast charging points and up to 30 overnight charging points will be installed across five Tengah HDB carparks. By integrating EV charging infrastructure into Tengah’s eco-town masterplan, we are creating a more accessible and convenient environment for EV adoption and enabling residents to embrace a greener lifestyle.”
S. Harsha, Managing Director, Sustainable Energy Solutions, SP Group, said, “The deployment of EV charging infrastructure in 18 Tengah precincts is progressing in step with the estate’s growth as a sustainable community and its move towards greener transport. We will also explore deploying additional DC chargers to ensure a robust and future-ready charging ecosystem that supports the evolving mobility needs of residents. With EV charging easily accessible, we aim to accelerate EV adoption in Tengah and across Singapore, reinforcing our commitment to a connected, efficient, and sustainable transport landscape.”
