International Urban Design Centre, Wuhou
The People’s Government of Wuhou District, Chengdu, has an ambitious vision for a greener future. Their masterplan is to transform Wuhou (the largest of five internal districts of Chengdu, and home to over 1 million people) into a smart eco-district – rejuvenating the area, and converting existing buildings into sustainable ecosystems that drive economic growth, innovation and cultural engagement for the entire province.
Under the MOUs signed with Wuhou District government, SP will serve as the sustainable energy solutions partner to the district government with the objective of establishing the district as the benchmark for smart eco-districts in Chengdu. With an estimated rejuvenation pipeline of over 630,000 sqm (gross floor area) over the next five years, the collaboration will explore a wide range of solutions to help the city meet future infrastructural demands in a sustainable way. This includes developing and implementing technologies and digital solutions such as advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence tools to support the city’s roadmap to carbon neutrality.
